Resolved Question: What would be the best way to see the Volcano national park & some other sites also on the Big Island?
We will only have 1 full day on the Big Island. We have never been to the Big Island & I want to look everything that I can in that day such as black sand beach, green sand beach, volcano national park with flowing lava, mauna mac nut factory, waterfalls, but I was wondering if driving ourselves or taking a tour would be best & if it would be best to do tour(s) which company do you suggest.

Resolved Question: Whats the best way to spend our 4 days in Costa Rica?
My husband and I are planning a 4 day trip to Costa Rica in September. We are planning to fly into San Jose and stay there as it works out cheaper. We would like to squeeze in as much as we can and look the best places there are like the volcanoes, hot springs. We would like to take an ATV tour. What other things can we look/do given that we will stay in San Jose? We would also like to spend a night at a beach resort. Which would be the best beach close to San Jose? We would like to check out some of the national parks and forests but I am ophidiophobic (fear of snakes) so is it still advisable to do that? Is there anything that we shouldn't miss doing?

Resolved Question: Could you rate this birthday gift on a scale from 1-10, it's for my friend, were going on vacation and I told?
her Id set something up for her there and as a gift and asked if she wanted relaxation or adventure. She said adventure, today I booked the surprise It's 3 nights beside an active volcano, with several tours booked, including a rainforest hike, a hike to hotsprings on the side of a volcano and a safari ride by boat through an amazon like area, to top it off I arranged horses and a boat to receive us from there back to the other side of the country so we could avoid a shitty 8 hour bus ride. Do you think shell freak out? I really want to make it a great gift. (she has no idea yet) It's a 5* hotel and includes the meals too if that makes a difference Oh were both environmental Majors, so the wildlife is a good thing not bad

Resolved Question: Hawaiian Vacation Help?
My girlfriend of four years and I are planning a vacation to Hawaii for the end of May or beginning of June. There are a numbernof things we would like to do, but not every of them are on the same island. We're looking forward to doing the typical beach things like swimming and snorkeling and even some parasailing. Some of the more exotic things that we'd like to do include maybe touring a rainforest and going on a dinner cruise. I would adore to visit the active volcano on he big island and the crater on Maui but I think that we'll only be able to do one of those the things. I would adore to steer to he top of the crater to watch the stars an the sunrise with her. In your opinions, what is the bettr thing to visit? The active volcano on the big island or the crater on Maui? Which is easier for is to receive to, having never been to Hawaii before?

Resolved Question: Big Island - helicopter or airplane?
We're traveling in Oahu for several days, and want to spend a day in the Big Island. Obviously the way to receive there is by plain. How do volcano tours compare by helicopter vs. airplane? Should we just take advantage of the flight, or really pay double for both the Oahu-Hawaii flight and a volcano sightseeing helicopter tour? Is there any company that has a volcano-focused air trip departing from Oahu? iFly's "Deluxe Volcano One-Day Tour" is the closest I've seen.

Resolved Question: Stupid standards require Rocks and Minerals. woohoo.... help?
I have to write a report on the rock cycle....BLEH!!! Really how it starts is quite juvenile, but our teacher gave us the following beggining: When little Jimmy was on his great vacation trip to Hawaii he went on a tour to look an active volcano. Rocky, Jimmy’s best pal, was in his pocket and fell out into the volcano in the puddle of molten rock. Jimmy may have lost his best pal, but he had no idea on the tragic adventure of which his best bud Rocky was about to embark on. I got to where the Rock falls into the lava and begins melting but how long would he stay in there? Until the next eruption or until he melts? I mean would he be melted nearly instantaneously?

Resolved Question: is this a word documents saving database?
Dear, uncle Joe Hey! How have you been? I have been so ecstatic about the upcoming trip your taking me on. At first I was contemplating going to Mexico, but after reconsideration I have realized that San Jose, Costa Rica is a much better option. This is due to the surrounding volcanoes and the beach resorts that are not over populated with tourists. Sense you have taken the liberty of paying for the trip in full, I have decided to plan the trip. I have statically planned it out through thorough research. Day 1 we will be visiting volcanoes. We will spend the beginning of the day driving there. And once there we will steer to the top and climb the remainder, we will view the highlands and look down at the valley. After taking pictures we will steer down to a pre-paid tour of the volcanoes. They will take us around and tutor us information. We will be able to take pictures from very high up. After the tour we will steer back home. On the way down the mountain we will cease at the luxurious St. George restaurant and take pictures form the balcony. We will like a fresh native meal.

Resolved Question: Is it worth paying $200-$300 extra for a volcano helicopter tour from the Kona area to avoid driving to Hilo?
My dad and I are thinking about visiting Hawaii's Big Island in May. We'd be staying in the Kailua-Kona area, and we'd prefer to not spend 3 hours driving to the other side of the island, especially since there aren't any hotels in the Hilo area that really appeal to us. However, we definitely want to look the famous volcanoes. Has anyone been on one of the helicopter tours that depart from the west side of the island and fly to the volcanoes? Did you feel it was worth the extra money to avoid driving to Hilo? Any advice or sharing of experiences would be much appreciated. Thanks!

Resolved Question: How long will the Iceland volcano last?
I have been touring Egypt for a year and my flight home is on May26th. I am traveling through KLM Airlines, and cease in Amsterdam than To Vancouver Canada. I know the flight's path will be going through England and Fly-up north in an arch, as it did when I first traveled to Egypt. I am just wondering what are the chances of this effecting my flight? Do you think my flight has a high possibility of being delayed? and if so, how long do you think it might be delayed for? It would be nice if they did that, but i doubt they would. As I need to catch 2 separate planes, from KLM. KLM is dutch airlines and it is partnered with Air France. I know my trip consist of 2 stops, because there isn't a direct plane from Cairo to Vancouver. Also, there will be a tiny chance that there are some passengers on the same KLM flight from Cairo to Amsterdam wanting to go to Vancouver. I don't think they will make that change for 1 person or for few people. Might, but i doubt it.

Resolved Question: WWE Monday Night SmackDown: (April 19, 2010); SmackDown is going to kill TNA?
Due to the volcano erupting overseas this week, the WWE crews have experienced some major travel problems as they have been wrapping up the European tour. Monday night's RAW is in jeopardy of happening as planned. WWE has informed the arena in East Rutherford, New Jersey that RAW is still planned to take place as scheduled. The SmackDown crew was able to receive flights out of Spain and will be in the United States in time for RAW. It's possible the SmackDown crew will have to be in the building for RAW on Monday night. The RAW crew is still in the UK and if they can't make it back to the US in time for RAW on Monday night, it's possible that they will film interviews with certain stars and air them on TV while the SmackDown crew wrestles on TV. There is a flight ban in the UK that has been extended until 7pm local time on Sunday, making it even harder for the RAW crew to receive back in time for the show on Monday night. Since RAW won't be available this Monday, SmackDown should take over, SmackDown is going to receive 5.1 Ratings while TNA gets -0.200

Resolved Question: Could anyone correct my mistakes please?
The article “The spread of counterfeiting: Knock-offs catch on" from The Economist described the impact of counterfeiting on economy and how the fake goods spread quickly every over the world. Fake goods can be found everywhere. In several examples, The Economist points out that NASA has bought suspicious equipment and the number of counterfeit parts in military electronics systems more than doubled. Moreover artificial gold found in German’s bank or fake porches and Ferraris on Bangkok’s streets. According to the International Anti-Counterfeiting Coalition, fake goods make up 5-7% of world trade and are worth somewhere between $250-600 billion. Besides that the article mentioned the reasons of the growth of counterfeiting in recent years. Among them are: shift of world manufacturing to the countries with needy protection from counterfeiting, internet that makes it a lot easier to trade goods and recession in wealthy countries. Because of growth of counterfeiting a lot of companies are making losses. In order to overcome problem of big number of fake goods companies are using more and more sophisticated technologies such as holograms, special inks, watermarking or radio-frequency identification. The most successful method is so called “genetic markers”, made to be incorporated into the packaging or product itself, as well as online “brand-protection” agencies. A treaty called the Anti-Counterfeiting Trade Agreement (ACTA) is expected to be released in order to strengthen controls on piracy. There might be a problem to enforce the treaty in China, since 80% of the world’s counterfeit goods are produced there. Basically, the article “The Cost of Europe's Volcanic-Ash Travel Crisis” from Times, describes the impact of the volcanic ash cloud on the air transport industry. The volcanic ash cloud that grounded planes across Europe last month, has caused chaos and losses to the airlines. Europe's biggest tour operator, TUI Travel, is facing losses of $30 million, which is increasing by $9 million a day. According to the ACI group, the volcanic ash cloud has cost European airport around $183 million. Due to the global financial crisis, travel business had bad time and volcano eruption made it even worse. It caused disruptions in global trade, since a lot of goods traded are transported using air planes. Some food and flowers businesses will be affected by the inability to export their product. It may impact especially Spain which export big amount of products and Kenyan growers that are facing a loss of about $2 million a day. More of the world's commerce may be carried by road, rail or sea, therefore the effect on the wider economy, is not expected to be as great. And as long as the disruption is not too long, this should not be a big problem.

Resolved Question: Is Costa Rica for 1900$ worth it?
This April, for 9 days, my language club is going to Costa Rica. For 1900$, we will have round trip airfare, 4-5 star hotels, a tour guide, breakfast, lunch, and dinner paid for, and will be going to a volcano, have a canopy(jungle) tour, horseback riding, going to a beach, visiting hot springs, and visiting a biological reserve or something like that. This trip is every inclusive, but I will have to arrive up with the money myself, because my parents won't pay for me. It will probably take me until april to arrive up with every the money, so Im trying to weigh my options. Thanks!

I have some things in mind: I DEFINITELY want to surf, however at the same time I want to do zip lining, waterfall rappelling, canopy tours. I considered Jaco for surfing because of it's proximity to San Jose and consistency of good waves which I read about. I also considered taking a bus (4 hrs) up to Monteverde because of the cloud forest and there they have the activities, and then back to San Jose. For surfing I also looked at Mal Pais, which is a far commute from San Jose, and Tamarindo too, which is also too far... In regards to zip lining/activities I know they are scattered throughout Costa Rica, but the ones in Monteverde I've heard the most about and seeing\being the cloud forest seems cooler than a regular national park... I also would adore to look Arenal Volcano and the hot springs, however that's another couple of hours commute (via anything) from Monteverde, so I wouldn't be a good use of a day, right? There are horse-boat-horse or jeep-boat-jeep trips to Arenal, but not sure if it's worth it......?? Is Jaco/Monteverde a good trip? Also I'm taking the public bus from San Jose, Jaco, Monteverde, back to San Jose. Good idea? I'm going alone so I don't think driving is safe. Any input, ideas, comments will be helpful! Thanks

Resolved Question: Events of Mt. vesuvius Volcano and impact on Pompeii in AD 79...?
Could someone please give me a definitive answer (including references to credible sources - excluding google and Wikipedia), whether the residents of Pompeii were unaware of their impending doom? I need to know, as some claims are made about how at the moment of death, people are seen in normal situations and poses going about their daily lives. Many sources claim they were, it is something which features in a lot of tourist guides like this one: http://www.partner.viator.com/en/3888/tours/Naples/Pompeii-Three-Hour-Sightseeing-Tour-from-Naples/d508-2958P, which says 'On a fateful summer's day in 79 A.D., Mt. Vesuvius erupted, spewing volcanic ash over the prosperous city of Pompeii. Unaware of the imminent danger, most people continued on with their daily lives and as a result the entire town and around 20,000 of its inhabitants were buried below tons of ash and pumice.'.

Resolved Question: Could you rate this birthday gift on a scale from 1-10, its for my friend whose an environmental biology Major?
were going on vacation and I told her Id set something up for her there as a gift and asked if she wanted relaxation or adventure. (she has no idea yet)
